Four indomitable ladies in three Upazilas of the district were awarded Begum Rokeya Padak at a function held at the Sadar UZ Auditorium on Tuesday. District Administration and District office of Women Affairs Directorate jointly organised this function.
The awardees of Rokeya Padak are: Tanjina Huque ( a resident of Mokimabad, Hajiganj) ,awarded for achieving laudable success in Economical activities , Rabeya Akter (a resident of Mokimabad, Hajiganj UZ ) for being a successful mother, Romana Papri ( a resident of Adurviti, Matlab Uttar) for Education and Services and Bilkis Akter ( a resident of Naula village in Kachua UZ) awarded for being a struggling and enterprising woman overcoming many repressions, social drawbacks and taboos.
As chief guest, DC spoke highly of these awardees for their excellent achievements and then formally handed over the Padaks to them amid applauses.
ADC (General) Ershaduddin presided while Additional SP Nadia Noor, UNO Sadar SMN Jamiul Hikma and District Women Affairs Officer Nasima Akter Program Officer SM Tanvir Rashid among others spoke on the occasion.
