Police recovered arms, ammunition, and drugs in two separate raids in Fatullah, Narayanganj, over the weekend. The operations were confirmed on Sunday (7 December) by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Tarek Al Mehdi. According to police sources, at around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, a call to the national emergency helpline 999 reported that a youth named Sagar had been detained by several unidentified individuals inside a room behind Farida Clinic near the Chashara railway line in Purba Isdair. Acting on the tip-off, police raided the spot and recovered a locally made pistol, a magazine and one round of ammunition. No case has been filed yet, and the investigation is ongoing. The incident followed an earlier attack late Friday night, when Mahfuzur Rahman Shubho, an associate of the Razzak group, along with 10–12 others, allegedly stormed the house, vandalised the property, and assaulted the occupants before driving them out. In response, another raid was carried out on Saturday afternoon under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Hasinuzzaman. During this operation, police searched the house of suspected criminal and drug dealer Razzak, seizing two magazines, three rounds of ammunition, a toy pistol, a switchgear-type weapon, four knives, a machete, and one kilogram of cannabis. ASP Hasinuzzaman said a firearms case has been filed against Razzak while his son Wasim faces charges under the narcotics control law. He added that Razzak is already accused in multiple cases, including charges of murder and abduction.
