BNP announces 36 more potential candidates

The BNP on Thursday unveiled an additional 36 possible candidates-including four from Dhaka-to contest the upcoming national election.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names at the party Chairperson’s Gulshan office in the afternoon.

“We are declaring another 36 seats today. Several remain-around 28-which will be finalized later. These include seats for our alliance partners as well as a few of our own that require further discussion. We will announce the remaining names at the appropriate time,” Fakhrul said.

The party, on November 3, published a list of 237 candidates for the election, and the following day suspended the nomination of Kamal Jaman Mollah for the Madaripur-1 constituency.
With Thursday’s announcement, the party has so far named candidates for 272 constituencies.
The newly announced nominees include:
