17.1pc growth of remittance inflow till Dec 2 of FY26

Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 17.1 percent (pc), reaching US$13.287 billion during the July to December 2 of the current fiscal year (FY26), according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued here on Wednesday.

The amount was $11.344 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year 2024-25.
During the first two days of December, inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 20.1 percent reaching US$248 million.

Last year, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $207 million. Earlier, expatriates sent $2.89 billion in remittances in November this year, which is 31.37 per cent higher than the same month last year when remittances amounted to $2.20 billion.

November recorded the third-highest remittance inflow of the year.
The highest inflow this year was in March at $3.29 billion, followed by May at $2.97 billion.
In October this year, remittances stood at $2.56 billion.
