BGB’s election training, drill inspected by CEC

In preparation for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, the honorable Chief Election Commissioner A. M. M. Nasir Uddin inspected the electoral readiness of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and exchanged views with members at all levels.
On Wednesday morning, he visited the training ground of Dhaka Battalion (5 BGB) at the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana, Dhaka, to oversee the ongoing electoral training and drills.
During the inspection, respected Election Commissioners, the Election Commission’s Senior Secretary, BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqi, invited guests from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and senior BGB officials were present.
After the drill inspection, the Chief Election Commissioner praised the professionalism, dedication, and preparedness of BGB in managing the election during his conversation with reporters. He emphasized the skills and commitment of BGB members on the ground to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election.
Later, at the Shaheed Shakil Ahmed Hall of the BGB headquarters, the Chief Election Commissioner held discussions with BGB members at all levels. The BGB Director General, senior headquarters officials, other officers, junior officers, soldiers, and civilian staff attended. Additionally, all BGB regions, institutions, sectors, battalions, and units joined via video teleconference.
During the discussion, the Chief Election Commissioner provided various directives to BGB members serving on the ground to ensure the 13th national parliamentary election is conducted freely, fairly, and without fear, while praising their professionalism and preparedness.
It is noted that in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, 1,210 BGB platoon members will serve electoral duties nationwide. Furthermore, except for Sandwip, Hatia, and Kutubdia, BGB will be responsible for election duties in all upazilas. Among 115 border upazilas, BGB members will be solely responsible for election duties in 60 upazilas.
