Gono Bishwabidyalay teacher dies in road accident

An Assistant Professor from the English Department of Gono Bishwabidyalay was killed in a road accident in Dhamrai, Dhaka.
Akhtar Ul Alam, a resident of Dhanbari, Tangail, and a former student of Jahangirnagar University’s English Department, died in the accident on the Dhamrai-Kaliakoir regional highway at Vhariaria area on Sunday morning.
He was traveling by CNG auto-rickshaw from Amtola Market to Dhulivita when a collision occurred with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
He was critically injured and taken to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex, then transferred to the University of Dhaka Health Center where he was declared dead. His body was later taken to the University of Dhaka for funeral prayers before being transported to his hometown for burial.
The University Health Center registrar said he had multiple injuries and was alive for about 30 minutes after being brought to the hospital before passing away. This tragic event has shocked the local community and academic circles.
