BD women entrepreneurs in focus at London SME Fair
Staff reporter :
The Bangladesh High Commission in London has announced that the upcoming SME Fair, part of Heritage Week, will prominently showcase the talent of Bangladeshi women entrepreneurs as well as innovative British-Bangladeshi women-led businesses.
The announcement followed a “productive and wide-ranging” discussion by High Commissioner Abida Islam with the UK Trade Envoy to Bangladesh, Baroness Rosy Winterton, and UK High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Sarah Cook, in London on Thursday.
According to a statement, the dialogue addressed key areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to strengthening the dynamic Bangladesh–UK partnership.
Preparations are underway for the SME Fair, which will take place on 13–14 December 2025 at Tower Hamlets as part of Heritage Week.
The High Commission highlighted that the fair will provide women-led SMEs with a valuable platform to gain international exposure, build business networks, and celebrate their role in economic growth and cultural heritage.
Members of the community are encouraged to attend and support the entrepreneurs, while also enjoying the broader celebrations of Bangladesh’s rich cultural traditions and efforts to deepen community and business ties.
