Controversial content creator Hero Alam is back in headlines – and no, it’s not because he dropped another genre-defying music video. The internet sensation was arrested on Saturday, November 15, in a case filed by none other than his wife, Riya Moni, setting social media abuzz with more shock than his last remix track.
Hatirjheel Police Station OC Mohammad Raju confirmed the news, saying police swooped in after the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court issued an arrest warrant on Wednesday (November 12). And of course, in true Hero Alam fashion, the arrest has turned into a full-blown entertainment saga.
The charges?
Riya Moni didn’t just file a complaint—she filed a whole season of allegations.
She accused Hero Alam of attempted murder, assault, criminal intimidation, and bringing along his sidekick, Ahsan Habib Selim, who also now has a warrant dangling over his head.
According to her, the couple’s rocky relationship didn’t just hit a rough patch – it fell off a cliff. The rift got so bad that Hero allegedly divorced her and threw her out of the house. Yes, you read that right – threw her out.
The June 21 ‘settlement’ that turned into an action scene
Riya claims she was invited to a “settlement meeting” with Hero Alam’s family at a house under the Hatirjheel police station. Sounds civil, right? Wrong.
When she arrived, around 10 to 12 men allegedly teamed up with Hero, hurled filthy abuses at her and her family, and the situation spiralled faster than one of Hero’s TikTok transitions.
But the chaos didn’t stop there
The complaint states that Hero and his crew later stormed into her residence – yes, literally barged into her house – and beat her on the head and body with wooden sticks. She sustained injuries, which she documented in the case filed on June 23.
And because no deshi drama is complete without a missing item of jewellery, Riya also reported that her 1.5 bhori gold chain was snatched during the assault. That’s not a fight – that’s a full-on crime thriller.
The legal twist
Plaintiff’s lawyer Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury said both accused violated their bail conditions by not showing up to court properly – an offence the judge did not take lightly. Their bail was cancelled, and warrants were issued. So, when police nabbed Hero Alam today, it wasn’t a surprise – it was an episode everyone saw coming.
