Midland Bank, JU host financial awareness

Midland Bank PLC, in collaboration with Communic-IBA of Jahangirnagar University, organized a seminar on financial literacy on Monday 2025 at the Senate Hall of Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka.

The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. Ireen Akther, Director of IBA, Jahangirnagar University.

It began with speeches from Professor Dr. M. Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and Professor Dr. Sohel Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration),according to press release.

The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, attended as the Chief Guest and addressed the audience, while Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO of Midland Bank, delivered the keynote speech and shared insights on financial literacy.

Officials from Midland Bank, including Mr. Md. Rashed Akter, Mr. Mohammad Faruq Ur Rahman, and Md. Ashraful Islam, participated in the seminar. Faculty members from the university, including Professor Mohammad Nazmul Islam, Associate Professor Ms. Tasnima Aziza, Associate Professor Shahriar Kabir, and Associate Professor Dr. S F Rehan, were also present, along with students.

The seminar focused on increasing awareness of financial literacy among students and future professionals, emphasizing financial inclusiveness, sustainable economic development, and the importance of informed financial decision-making.
