NBR bans outsiders from entering customs
Business Desk :
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has issued strict bans against entry of unauthorized or outsiders into Customs Bond Commissionerates and involvement in official work.
Instructions in this regard were sent to the concerned commissioners from the Customs: Exports and Bonds branch of NBR on Tuesday.
The letter signed by NBR Secretary (Customs: Exports and Bonds) Suraiya Sultana said that recently, outsiders and unauthorized persons have been participating in official activities in Customs Bond Commissionerate offices, which is a threat to the working environment, discipline and security of the department.
The letter also said that despite strict instructions given at various times in this regard, the desired progress has not been seen.
On the contrary, allegations of outsiders being involved in some undesirable incidents have been received recently.
The NBR has said that immediate and strict legal action will be taken to stop the unauthorized entry of outsiders into all Customs Bond Commissionerates in the country.
At the same time, it has been directed to take action against any officer or employee if there is evidence of their involvement with an outsider as per the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.
