Inauguration of rubber fender replacement work for NCT-5 Jetty of Ctg Port

The rubber fender replacement work for NCT-5 Jetty of Chattagram Port, built by the domestic company Khulna Shipyard Limited, was inaugurated on Wednesday (November 12). Chattagram Port Authority (CPA) Member (Engineering) Commodore Kawsar Rashid (E), PSC, BN was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.

Inauguration was completed in the presence of representatives of the Port Authority and Khulna Shipyard Limited with the aim of installing 18 sets of rubber fenders using domestic technology.

The fenders have been manufactured in their factory maintaining international quality standards.

The dimensions of the manufactured fenders are (4.55m×1.58m×0.86m) and the unit weight is about 2.80 tons. It cost 5 crore 83 lakh 7 thousand taka. Among others present at the inaugural ceremony were Port Secretary Mr. Omar Faruk, Deputy Chief Engineer Mr. Saifuddin Ahmed, Executive Engineer Mr. Mizanur Rahman Sarkar, Terminal Manager Md. Saiful Alam and Khushili Executive Engineer (Factory) Mr. Sohel, along with other senior officials of the two institutions.
