Latif Siddique and Manjurul Alam granted bail by HC

The High Court has granted bail to former textiles and jute minister Abdul Latif Siddique and journalist Manjurul Alam Panna in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice A S M Abdul Mobin and Justice Saghir Hossain passed the order on Thursday after hearing the bail petitions.
Advocate Z I Khan Panna appeared on behalf of the bail petitioners, while Assistant Attorneys General Ibrahim Khalil and Al Amin Hossain represented the state.
Following the court’s decision, Assistant Attorney General Ibrahim Khalil stated that an appeal would be filed before the Appellate Division challenging the bail order.
Earlier, on August 29, a judicial court in Dhaka ordered the imprisonment of former minister Abdul Latif Siddique, Dhaka University professor Karzon, and 16 others in connection with the case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Shahbagh Police Station.
