Under the project “Drilling of 2 Appraisal-cum-Development Wells (Sundalpur-4 and Srikail-5) and 2 Exploration Wells (Sundalpur South-1 and Jamalpur-1),” the drilling of the Srikail-5 Appraisal-cum-Development Well was formally inaugurated on 28 September 2025 by Managing Director of BAPEX Engineer Md. Fazlul Haque.
The event was attended by the General Manager of BAPEX’s Drilling and Engineering Division along with senior officials from other relevant Division,says a press release.
The Srikail-5 well, located at Srikail in Muradnagar Upazila of Cumilla District under Block-9, is targeted to reach a depth of 3,450 meters (±50m). The well is estimated to contain an Initial Gas-in-Place (GIIP) of 62.87 BCF, with a recoverable reserve of 50.30 BCF. The drilling operation of the Well is being entirely with BAPEX’s own rig and manpower.
