Father and daughter killed in Sylhet head-on collision between bus and private car

A father and daughter were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a private car in Osmaninagar, Sylhet. Four others were injured.

The accident occurred in the Dayamir area of ​​Osmaninagar at around 9:30 am on Saturday (November 1). The deceased are Harun Mia, a private car driver from Khadimpur village of Osmaninagar police station, and his daughter Anisa Begum (10). The injured are Mukit Mia (35), Rahima Khatun (30), Panna Begum (23) and Munni Akhter (23) from the same village. Police said they are all from the same family.

Upon receiving the information, Osmaninagar police station and highway police visited the scene and rescued the injured. Police said that Harun Mia, the driver of the private car, was killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a Habiganj bus from Sylhet to Habiganj and a private car from Tajpur to Sylhet in the Dayamir area.

Sherpur Highway Police In-Charge (OC) Abdur Rashid Sarkar said, “The bus and private car involved in the accident have been seized.” Currently, traffic movement on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway is normal.
