AL leader stabbed to death in Sylhet

A leader of South Surma Upazila Awami League was stabbed to death on the roof of his house in Sylhet. The murder took place between 6:30 am and 9:30 am on Friday, police said.
The deceased was Abdur Razzak, vice-president of South Surma Upazila Awami League and former general secretary of South Surma Upazila Sports Association. He is the son of the late Moulul Hossain, a prominent arbitrator of Telirai village in Mollargaon Union of South Surma.
Local sources said that Abdur Razzak went to walk on the roof of his house after performing Fajr prayers. When family members could not find him at home around 9 am, they went to the roof and found his bloody body lying there. Later, the police went and recovered the body.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Media Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner (promoted to the rank of Police Superintendent) Mohammad Saiful Islam said that Abdur Razzak was murdered between 6:30 am and 9:30 am. There are stab wounds on various parts of his body. The stab wounds were on his chest, lower abdomen, and penis. He said that the police are working to solve the mystery of the murder.
