NRBC Bank has distributed Tk 3.95 crore in loans to 137 marginalized farmers and low-income professionals in Bhola under Bangladesh Bank’s Tk 750 crore refinancing scheme aimed at boosting financial inclusion.
The open loan disbursement event was held on October 30, 2025, at a hotel in Bhola, with Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Rup Ratan Pine attending as the chief guest, according to press release.
Presided over by Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, Managing Director and CEO of NRBC Bank, the program was joined by senior officials from both NRBC Bank and Bangladesh Bank.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries can receive loans between Tk 50,000 and Tk 5 lakh at a 7percent concessional interest rate. Across Bangladesh, NRBC Bank has so far disbursed Tk 150 crore from this fund.
Dr. Touhidul Alam Khan said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion and sustainable development by bringing unbanked people into the formal economy.
