A public hearing was held in Romjaipur, under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district, with the participation of local residents to address severe river erosion and the safe water crisis.
The hearing took place on Wednesday at Balur Field, next to Rampal Police Station, initiated by Badhon Human Development Organization in collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh.
Present at the hearing were Khulna Water Development Circle Assistant Engineer Chinmoy Mallick, Bagerhat Water Development Board Executive Engineer Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Rampal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mrs. Tamanna Ferdousi, Public Health Engineering Department Executive Engineer Jayanta Mallick, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhijit Chakraborty, and Public Health Department Assistant Engineer (Rampal) Imran Hossain.
Also attending were Badhon Human Development Organization Executive Director ASM Manjurul Hasan Milon, Project Manager Sohag Hawlader, and ActionAid Bangladesh Inspiratory Nahida Islam Trisha.
In addition, local public representatives, members of various political parties, journalists, civil society members, and thousands of people affected by climate change were present.
