Chittagong District police in a series of special drives arrested 125 listed accused, including four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, from different upazilas of the district on Monday night.
The law enforcers also seized 95 litres of liquor, 45 Yaba pills and four kilos of ganja during the night-long drives.
In addition to upazila police, nearly 200 additional policemen participated in the drives that were conducted in different parts of the district including in the upazilas of Satkania, Lohagara, Sitakunda, Boalkhali, Patiya, Anowara and Chandanaish. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of District Special Branch Naimul Islam said the arrestees were accused in different cases.
