Team ‘frfr’ from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) secured the 1st Runner-Up position at the Supply Chain Research Challenge 5.0, held on October 24, 2025.
The competition was organised by the Bangladesh Institute of Human Resource Management (BIHRM), an autonomous professional institute under the Ministry of Commerce, says a press release.
The contest aimed to promote academic and industry-based research in supply chain management, with teams competing through multiple research and presentation rounds.
The IUB team included Mahmudul Islam Raiyan and Marjan Ferdous Tasbih from the Department of Finance, and MubashwaraMehzabeen from the Department of Economics.
They were joined by IrsaFarhad from BRAC University and Md. Adnan Habib Shovon from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.
The 5th edition of the competition engaged over 100 teams nationwide through three rounds – abstract submission, full-length research paper development, and final presentations before a panel of industry professionals and academics. The top three teams were recognized at the 10th Supply Chain Convention.
Team ‘frfr’ presented a paper titled “Gen-Z’s Intention to Use Crowd Logistics in Dhaka: An Integrated UTAUT-UTAUT2-SET Framework.”
The study analyzed technological and behavioral factors influencing Gen-Z’s adoption of crowd logistics services in Dhaka, integrating three theoretical models: UTAUT, UTAUT2, and SET. The paper was published in Supply Chain Insider, Vol. 17, No. 1 (2025), and is available online.
The team acknowledged the guidance of Dr. Md. Khaled Saifullah, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Economics, IUB, who supervised their work throughout the competition.
