Dhaka, Islamabad keen to cement ties of cooperation

Dhaka and Islamabad is keen to strengthen cooperation in multifaceted arenas including simplification of visa procedures and resumption of air connectivity.
The remarks came when High Commission of Pakistan to Bangladesh Imran Haider paid his maiden courtesy call on the adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Md Touhid Hossain on Thursday at the latter’s office.
During the call, according to Foreign Ministry, both sides noted with appreciation the recent engagements and exchange of high-level ministerial visits between the two countries, including the visit of the Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to Bangladesh in August 2025, the successful holding of the 6th round of Foreign Secretary-level Bilateral Consultations in Dhaka in April 2025.
Both sides further welcomed the forthcoming 9th meeting of the Joint Economic Commission, scheduled to be held in Dhaka on 27 October this year, after a considerable gap. Adviser for Foreign Affairs expressed his satisfaction that the two countries have recently made progress in several areas of cooperation, including simplification of visa procedures and resumption of air connectivity.
They also discussed various bilateral issues and the importance of strengthening collaboration across multiple sectors.
Foreign Adviser assured the envoy of all possible cooperation during his tenure in Bangladesh.
