Journalist Sarwar Uddin Ahmed passes away

Journalist Sarwar Uddin Ahmed (78) is no more. He passed away at 8:40 pm on Saturday (October 11) while undergoing treatment at a private clinic in the city (Innalillahi…Rajiun).
His Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Sikder Ghata Eidgah Maidan in Raujan at 11 am on Sunday (October 12).
Member Secretary of Chittagong Press Club Interim Committee Zahidul Karim Kochi, members Mustafa Naeem, Golam Maula Murad, President of Chittagong Metropolitan Journalists Union Mohammad Shahnewaz, and General Secretary Saleh Noman expressed their condolences and prayed for the peace of the deceased’s soul.
Sarwar Uddin Ahmed is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, and 1 son. He was born in the house of Alep Khan Sawdagar in Sultanpur village of Raozan Upazila (municipality).
He completed his graduation degree in English from Karachi University, Pakistan.
He was the executive officer of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation for 17 years in his long service life of 55 years.
Later, he worked as a correspondent for The New Nation, Daily Financial Express, Daily News Today, The Daily Life newspapers.
He also worked as the news editor of Daily People’s View, The Economic Times, and The Daily Commercial Times.
