The International Crimes Tribunal has sent arrest warrants for 30 individuals, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in connection with two enforced disappearance cases.
At the same time, the warrants were forwarded to 12 responsible military offices. This information was provided by the Registrar’s office of the Tribunal on Thursday morning.
In this regard, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said that the Tribunal sent the arrest warrants issued against the 30 accused in the two cases to the IGP and the 12 offices yesterday afternoon.
The 12 offices include: Chief of Army Staff, Chief of General Staff, Adjutant General (Army Headquarters), DG DGFI, DG NSI, Principal Staff Officer (Armed Forces Division), Secretary of the Chief Adviser’s Office,
Director Military Intelligence, Director Personnel Service Directorate (Bangladesh Army), Commandant Army Security Unit, Provost Marshal, CEO (Army MP Unit for Information).
Earlier, on Wednesday, Tribunal-1 issued arrest warrants against 17 individuals, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in the TFI cell in connection with a case of crimes against humanity related to enforced disappearances.
At the same time, another case in JIC led to arrest warrants against 13 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina. On the same day, the prosecution formally filed complaints in both cases in the morning.
