BD workers happy arriving Baghdad

After long paws of seven years, Bangladeshi workers have once again set foot on the soil of oil-rich Iraq.
The first group of Bangladeshi workers arrived at Baghdad International Airport on Thursday night, where they were received with greetings and congratulations by Bangladesh Embassy officials Tanvir Ahmed and Rezaul Karim, on behalf of Ambassador Major General (Retd.) Md. Maksudul Haque.
Bangladeshi expatriate workers in Iraq-Akash Bepari, Shawon Sarker, Md. Iman Hasan, Md. Nazrul Bepari, Tofayel, Raihan Bepari, and Amir Hossain-confirmed the matter on Friday, on behalf of recruiting agency Al Rotan (Pvt.) Ltd.
Alongside government efforts, private entrepreneurs are also continuing their initiatives to expand labor markets. After many ups and downs, Iraq’s labor market has finally reopened for Bangladeshi workers after seven years.
With the overall cooperation of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and the initiative of recruiting agency Al Rotan (Pvt.) Ltd. (RL-1831), it has been possible to resume sending workers to this Middle Eastern country.
On Thursday at 5:45 am, a group of 30 workers departed from Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in Dhaka via Salam Air for Baghdad. Later, at 8:45 am, another group of 150 workers departed from Chattogram Airport for the Iraqi capital.
By 10 pm, a total of 180 workers had reached Baghdad International Airport. At Dhaka airport, they were seen off by Al Rotan’s Managing Director Md. Khorshed Alam and Overseas Director Md. Abul Bashar.
Al Rotan’s Managing Director Md. Khorshed Alam told journalists that after seven years of continuous effort, it become possible to reopen the Iraqi labor market thanks to the initiatives of the interim government.
He said it become realised with the cooperation of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul and Secretary Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan, Bangladesh Ambassador to Baghdad Major General (Retd.) Md. Maksudul Haque, and other concerned officials.
