Two university students were killed when they lost control of their motorcycle, and a four-year-old child died after being hit by an easy bike in two separate incidents in Narayanganj. Police also recovered a floating body from the Buriganga River and the body of a housewife from her residence.
According to reports, a four-year-old boy named Abdullah was killed after being hit by an easy bike in Fatullah. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday (24 September) in the Dharmganj area. The driver, Md. Sagar (30), was recklessly driving the easy bike when it struck Abdullah, leaving him critically injured. Locals helped rush him to Khanpur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Abdullah was the son of Delwar Hossain and Nadira Begum of Gulbagh village in Karimganj, Kishoreganj. The family had been living in a rented house in Munshibari, Dharmganj, Narayanganj.
Meanwhile, in Rupganj, two students of a private university died while racing on a motorcycle after losing control. Two others were injured in the accident, which took place on Tuesday evening on the 300-foot road in Purbachal near Lengtarmazar. One of the motorcycles also caught fire. The matter was confirmed by Kanchan Highway Police in-charge Sohel Rana.
The deceased were identified as Dip, son of Jashim Uddin of Ibrahimpur, Dhaka, and Sumon, son of Sekandar of Matikata. Both were students of Primeasia University. One of the injured students, Rabbi, is currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and is reported to be in critical condition. The identity of the other injured person could not be confirmed.
In another incident, the body of Idris Ali Bepari (45) was recovered by Pagla Naval Police from the Buriganga River around 12 p.m. on Wednesday. His body was found floating behind the government oil depot at JamunaGhat in Fatullah.
Idris, son of the late Siddiq Ali Bepari of Charjinking village under Shakhipur Police Station in Shariatpur, had been living in Shyampur, Dhaka. He went missing on 22 September around 1 p.m. after accidentally falling into the river while rowing a boat.
On the same day, police recovered the hanging body of a housewife named RituAkter (22) from her rented apartment on the ground floor of Imam Uddin’s house in Hajiganj, Fatullah.
The victim’s father, Md. Kashem Mia, alleged that his daughter was murdered by her husband, who then fled. He further claimed that when he arrived, he found the door locked from outside.
Fatullah Police Sub-Inspector SanjibJowaddar said the exact cause of death-whether homicide or suicide-would be confirmed after the autopsy report.
