EC to launch Tk464cr project for election offices, server stations

The Election Commission (EC) has proposed a Tk464.83 crore project aimed at strengthening election infrastructure and improving the voter database system.

According to a letter sent to the Planning Commission on 18 September, signed by EC Deputy Secretary Mohammad Mustafa Hassan, the project has been titled “Construction of Upazila/Thana, District and Regional Election Officer’s Office and Server Station for Election Database.”

The initiative will be implemented by the EC Secretariat in collaboration with the Public Works Department and will be entirely funded by the government.

Its duration has been set from July 2025 to June 2028.
The letter also requested necessary action for the approval of the Development Project Proposal (DPP).

The project has already been listed among the new but unapproved projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the fiscal year 2024–25.
