Communal harmony will strengthen further during this year’s Durga Puja : Home Affairs Adviser

Chowdhury said that Durga Puja is a religious festival and its sanctity
must be preserved. This year’s Puja will further enhance communal
harmony and will be celebrated in a festive spirit.
He mentioned that in a meeting with the Puja Committee, instructions
were given to ensure round-the-clock security from the very beginning
of the celebrations. “There is no security threat. CCTV coverage has
been set up at every location. Alongside government security forces,
volunteers will also be present. From September 24, Ansar members will
be deployed,” he added.
The Adviser made these remarks on Monday while visiting the
Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Missionpara, Narayanganj city.
He further stated, “Arrangements have been made so that all religions
can work together in unity. The Puja preparations are excellent. There
are no issues here. To support the celebration, Tk 3.2 million has been
allocated for various Puja mandaps across Narayanganj, along with 500
kilograms of rice for each mandap.”
Present at the event were DIG of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallik,
Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah,
District Police Superintendent Mohammad Jasim Uddin, and officials
from different levels.
