Dhallywood: Purnima comment on award shows and OTT ‘Syndicate’

Entertainment Report :

In the showbiz industry, it now seems that award shows are happening more frequently than the making of dramas and films. However, the quality of these events has raised many questions and criticisms.

Recently, a particular award show sparked massive backlash on social media over the outfits of models. Not just the models-these cheap award shows themselves have become the subject of widespread condemnation on Facebook.

Even leading stars of the industry are speaking out on the matter. After actor Omar Sani, popular Dhallywood actress Purnima has also expressed her candid reaction.

Purnima said, “They also ask me to receive an award. I ask, for which work? They say-just like that. But why would they give an award just like that? They even invite me to host the event. Yet the names of the award recipients were ones I was hearing for the first time.

I didn’t recognize anyone. I don’t know for what reason or for which work they were given the award. There are no famous faces here.

That’s why, even when they invite me, I don’t attend.” Meanwhile, Purnima shared that she is open to returning to acting regularly if offered good stories and strong characters.

She is particularly interested in working on OTT platforms. However, she also raised allegations about the existence of a “syndicate” there.

Purnima said, “I want to work in OTT. But there is a big syndicate in place. They don’t want to take outsiders. They mostly work with those who are connected with them. If I get the respect I deserve and a good story, I will definitely work.”
