Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) is the first bank in Bangladesh to connect via Starlink satellite, setting a new standard for innovation, resilience, and efficiency in the country’s financial technology sector.
The official launch was held at EBL’s head office in the capital on Tuesday, marking a strategic collaboration between the bank and Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet service, says a press release.
The ceremony was attended by senior executives from EBL and Felicity IDC, Starlink’s service provider in Bangladesh. With Starlink’s satellite connectivity, EBL aims to enhance internet reliability and speed, support secure transactions, maintain service during network outages, and extend coverage.
