Match-fixing complain arisen in Indian cricket

The match-fixing complain has been arisen in Indian cricket. The matter has been staying in a primary stage. Cases have been filed as per public gambling law and different clauses of ICT act of India.
The complain has been arisen when the Uttar Pradesh T20 League was rolling on. The Anti Corruption department of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has filed a general diary. The Lucknow Police has started to investigate the matter.
This information was revealed by a media source in the country on Friday (September 5). The media reported that Arjun Chauhan, the manager of ‘Kashi Rudra’, one of the teams in the T20 league in Uttar Pradesh, has alleged that he received a suspicious message on social media. He was offered match-fixing by a message from an account named ‘Vips Nakrani’. The sender of the message identified himself as a ‘big bookie’.
The bookie offered Rs 1 crore to influence the outcome of the match. At the same time, he also said that he would give Chauhan a commission of Rs 50 lakh. As soon as he received the message, Chauhan reported the matter to the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Department. Based on the complaint of the board officials, the police filed an FIR on August 31 and started an investigation.
Chauhan said that he was asked to keep in touch only through WhatsApp calls or messages. The commission will be paid in dollars or cash as per his convenience. The suspect also promised to pay the money as soon as the match ends if the cricketers play according to his instructions.
It is learnt that as per the advice of the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Department, he has been in contact with the suspect for some time. All the phone calls and messages of Chauhan with that person have been recorded with the help of technology. The concerned officials of the BCCI have given those documents to the investigators.
Lucknow Police has informed that an investigation has been started based on the complaint. The matter is still in its initial stage.
A case has been registered under various sections of the Public Gambling Act and the Information Technology Act of India. All the accounts that are connected to the social media account from which the match-fixing allegations came are being investigated.
It is to be noted that the Uttar Pradesh T20 League started on August 17. The final of this competition will be held on September 6. Cricketers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rinku Singh, Dhruv Jurel, Digwesh Rathi, Mohsin Khan, Shivam Mavi are playing in the tournament.
