The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has fined South actress Rania Rao Rs 102 crore in a gold smuggling case. The South beauty was arrested on March 3 while trying to bring 14.2kg of gold from Dubai through Kempegowda International Airport.
The gold seizure was one of the biggest in recent months and has come as a surprise to both the film industry and the business community in Karnataka. Rania is only associated with the world of glamour, while her stepfather holds the rank of DGP.
