High-flying Bangladesh Cricket team will take on touring Netherlands Cricket team in their second Twenty20 International (T20I) match today at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The match will begin at 6:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the game live from the match-venue. Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Litton Das will lead his side, while Captain of Netherlands Cricket team Scott Edwards will lead his out-fit.
If Bangladesh win today’s match, the Tigers will win the three-match T20I series 2-0 remaining with one match.
Earlier, Bangladesh posted a resounding eight-wicket victory over the Dutch in the first T20I at the same venue on August 30.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and Netherlands faced each other in five T20I matches. Of them, Bangladesh recorded four victories, while Netherlands won only one match.
Prolific right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed shone with the cherry and played the key role for Saturday’s victory bagging four wickets in the space of 28 runs. The speedster was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning bowling performance. Besides, Saif Hassan captured two wickets at the cost of 18 runs and remained unbeaten with 36 runs.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team led his team to win against Pakistan Cricket team in the T20I series at home recently. But he was suffering run drought as he scored one, eight, eight runs in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan. But it is a good news for Bangladesh that Litton Das came out from his disaster as he cracked a superb 54 (not out) against Netherlands on Saturday night. He hit six fours and two sixes in his 29-ball innings. It was his 13th T20I half-century in International cricket.
After becoming Man of the Match, Taskin Ahmed said, ” Litton batted really extra-ordinary. To tell the truth, it is very important for us as Litton will perform well and keep his consistent batting display. He came back in a good form. Recently he batted well in the net session. If he can retain his consistency, he will perform well in the upcoming mega events.”
Taskin said, ” Saif Hassan had a good contribution to win the match. He shone with the willow and also with the cherry.”
He said, ” I always enjoy to such kind of performance what I did in the first match of the series. I practiced hard in the last days. I got my natural rhythm after many days. The wicket was act in favour of batting. There was moisture in the pitch. I maintained my basic instinct and also executed my diversion of bowling.”
