A four-member Chinese delegation led by MsYutianqi, deputy director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of China, called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan at his residential office of the university.
She was accompanied by high officials of the same ministry, says a DU press release.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs on language and culture among the DU and different universities in China.
Exchange of cultural teams between Bangladesh and China was also discussed in the meeting.
Besides, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint-degree programmes, capacity building programmes and training programmes on artificial intelligence (AI) technology among the universities of both countries.
The VC Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan said the historical relationship between Bangladesh and China has been prevailing for many years. Bangladeshi students go to China every year to pursue higher study, he added.
He sought cooperation from the Chinese delegation in increasing the number of scholarships for the DU students for higher studies in China.
