The Netherlands Cricket team landed in Dhaka on Wednesday. Then, they took rest awhile and left the capital for Sylhet on 12:30pm and reached Sylhet. Netherlands Cricket team will play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Bangladesh Cricket team.

After 2011 ICC World Cup, Netherlands Cricket team arrived in the country. Bangladesh defeated Netherlands in their match of that ICC World Cup in Chattogram, the port city of the country. The Netherlands Cricket team will not take part in their practice session in Sylhet on Wednesday. They will participate two-day long practice session in Sylhet.

Bangladesh Cricket team will take on Netherlands Cricket team in the first T20I at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on August 30. The Tigers will face the Dutch in the second T20I at the same venue on September 1. Bangladesh Cricket team will meet Netherlands Cricket team in the third T20I at the same venue on September 3.

It may be mentioned that a three-match One Day International (ODI) series and three-match T20I series between Bangladesh Cricket team and India Cricket team was scheduled to be held at the different venues across Bangladesh in August.

Later, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cancelled the series due to insufficient security system. Thus, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) invited Netherlands Cricket to send a team to play three T20I matches in Bangladesh. Bangladesh will play three T20I matches marking the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup 2025.

The ensuing Asia Cup will be held on T20 format. So, the three-match T20I series between Bangladesh Cricket team and Netherlands Cricket team will be a good preparation for Bangladesh Cricket team. The ACC Asia Cup will be held at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 9 to September 28.

Meanwhile, the BCB announced on August 22 the 16-member Bangladesh T20I squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Netherlands and the forthcoming ACC Asia Cup 2025.
