Dengue claims 3 lives in 24hrs

Dengue continues to exact a heavy toll across the country, with three more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
During this period, 412 new patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide with the mosquito-borne virus.
The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the figures in a press release on Monday.
According to the DGHS, the fresh hospitalizations include 102 patients from Barishal division (outside the city corporation areas), 77 from Chattogram division, 51 from Dhaka division, 69 from Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 53 from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 26 from Khulna division, four from Mymensingh division, and 30 from Rajshahi division.
Despite the surge in admissions, 381 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours after recovering from the illness.
So far this year, a total of 27,617 patients have recovered and returned home.
With the latest figures, the cumulative number of dengue cases in 2025 has climbed to 29,044 – of which 59.3 percent are men and 40.7 percent women.
For comparison, Bangladesh recorded 1,01,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths in 2024.
