Saff U-17 Women's Champ: BD return to winning streak beating Nepal

Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s Football team returned to the winning streak in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-17 Women’s Championship defeating Nepal Under-17 Women’s Football team by three goals to nil in their third match at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan on Sunday.

Thuinuye Marma, Sauravi Akanda Prity and Reya scored one goal each for Bangladesh.

Earlier, Bangladesh made an auspicious start in the SAFF Under-17 Women’s Championship beating Bhutan by 3-1 goals in their first match at the same venue on August 20.

Bangladesh tasted a 2-0 defeat by India in their second match at the same venue on August 22.

Thuinuye Marma put her team ahead by a spectacular shot in the 41st minute of the play. She got the ball on her way from a through pass of her teammate Mamoni Chakma.

Prity doubled the margin after dodging past advanced Nepalese goalie in the 45th minute of the clash.

Reya sealed the fate of the match (3-0) after dribbled past Nepalese custodian and put the ball into the blank net just at the dying moment.

Bangladesh got the first chance in the 6th minute of the play. Umma Kulsum’s weak shot was gripped by Nepalese goalkeeper easily.

After one minute, Alpi Akter failed to hit appropriately at the danger zone of Nepal. Her shot was cleared by Nepalese defender and Prity got the ball but her shot passed away the goalbar.

Prity’s eye-catching placing shot was fisted by Nepalese goalie in the 14th minute of the game.

Prity failed to find the blank net in the 35th minute of the game.
Nepal got the lone opportunity in the 55th minute but Sahara Limbu’s shot bounced back from the crosspiece.

Thuinuye Marma’s long-range shot returned to the field after touching the goalbar in the 84th minute of the match.
