Trawler capsize: 12 fishermen rescued in Bay of Bengal

A fishing trawler named FB Mayer Doa sank with 17 fishermen aboard after being caught in a storm while fishing in the Bay of Bengal.
The incident occurred at least 200 kilometers deep off Kuakatacoast at around 2 am on August 18 (Monday).
After more than 37 hours, 12 fishermen were rescued from the seabed near Kuakata with the help of another trawler at around 3 pm on Wednesday (August 20) and admitted to the Kalapara Upazila Health Complex.
They are Mortuza Ali (25), Md. Anich (26), Nur-e-Alam (65), Helal Uddin (21), Sajjad (23), Touhid (23), Faisal (35), Ruhul Kabir (55), Ansar Ali (30), Sekab Hossain (22), Nurul Hasan (22) and Morshed (20).
Their homes are said to be in the Banshkhali area of Chittagong.
Badsha Mia, skipperof the trawler , said that on August 14, they went to the deep sea with 17 fishermen from Banshkhali to net fish.
