‘Education system fails to stop unemployment’
City Desk:
Nurul Islam Saddam, the central secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, has said that the country’s education system has failed to reduce unemployment. He stated that we have become psychological slaves. Bangladesh is still far behind in knowledge and research.
He made these remarks during a programme held on Wednesday, at the banquet hall of Khulna Press Club, where outstanding students who scored GPA 5 in SSC, Dakhil, and equivalent examinations were honored as the chief guest, says a press release.
The event was organised by the Khulna Metropolitan Branch of Chhatra Shibir, where nearly five hundred students from the district were honored. The program was presided over by Arafat Hossain Milan, president of Khulna Metropolitan Chhatra Shibir. Professor Mahfuzur Rahman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Khulna Metropolitan Branch, was present as the main speaker.
Criticizing the country’s education system, Nurul Islam Saddam said that even if there are no students attending classes at universities, there is never a shortage of students in the library preparing for the BCS exam. However, universities are not only places to produce BCS cadres but also centers for research and knowledge creation.
