The Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony for the Fall Semester 2025 students of Southern University Bangladesh (SUB) was recently held at the university hall room under the initiative of the Department of English.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Law and Sociology Professor Chowdhury Mohammad Ali and Registrar AFM Modachher Ali, were present as guests at the freshers’ welcome ceremony, which was chaired by the Head of the Department, Arman Hossain.
Also present were the teachers and students of the department. Professor Chowdhury Mohammad Ali, in his speech, warmly congratulated the freshers and, mentioning the long-standing academic excellence and tradition of the department, advised the students to make the best use of their time and opportunities.
In addition, he urged them to actively participate in the co-curricular activities of the department.
Registrar AFM Modachher Ali also gave a directional speech. Kishan Saha, a lecturer of the department, presented a multimedia presentation highlighting the academic, cultural, etc. aspects of the English department.
The event featured various cultural performances, including recitations and musical performances by students, which reflected the creativity, vitality, and artistry of the department.
In his closing remarks, Head of Department Arman Hossain thanked everyone involved for making the event a success and urged the new students to uphold the department’s values and reputation.
