Afzal returns to stage after 30yrs

Entertainment Report :

Renowned actor and director Afzal Hossain is set to return to the stage after 30 years with the play Pendulum, written by Masum Reza and jointly presented by Dhaka Theatre and Desh Natok.
The play is being directed by Nasir Uddin Yusuf. Afzal Hossain last performed on stage in Keramat Mongol, also directed by Nasir Uddin Yusuf for Dhaka Theatre. Since then, his busy schedule with television dramas and advertisements kept him away from the stage, although theatre audiences have greatly missed his performances.
Responding to the love and requests of his fans and admirers, the celebrated actor is finally making his comeback to theatre after nearly three decades.
Earlier, he had planned to return to the stage after two decades with Pendulum, written by Masum Reza and directed by Nasir Uddin Yusuf. At that time, Afzal Hossain expressed his excitement about the project and had even started rehearsals. The play was supposed to be a joint production of Dhaka Theatre and Desh Natok.
Back then, Afzal Hossain told the media, “This is not just a return for the sake of returning. I am coming back to the stage after nearly two decades. Nasir Uddin Yusuf is directing the play, and Dhaka Theatre and Desh Natok are jointly producing it.”
Although everything went according to plan, just days before the staging of the play, Afzal Hossain fell ill. Despite his strong desire, he could not return to the stage at that time. Several years have passed since then, but out of love and commitment to his audience, the long wait is finally coming to an end. According to Dhaka Theatre, Afzal Hossain will return to the stage after three decades with the very same play, Pendulum.
