Bangladesh Women’s Football team have been billed in Group-B of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup final round. The other teams of Group-B are: Defending champions China, strong North Korea and Uzbakesten. A total of 12 teams splitting into three groups will take part in the mega event of women of Asia.
The colourful draw-ceremony of AFC Women’s Asian Cup was held at Sydney in Australia on Tuesday.
Australia is the host of the gala football competition for women of Asian Continent.
The 2006 AFC Women’s Asia Cup final round was held in Australia.
Host Australia, South Korea, Iran, Philippines have been taken place in Group-A, while Japan, Vietnam, India and Chinese Taipei have been placed in Group-C.
Marking the draw-ceremony, AFC and Australia arranged a colourful function. They arranged Australian dance party and a colourful video promo.
Bangladesh will take on China in their first Group-B match at Sydney on March 3, Bangladesh will face North Korea in their second Group-B match at Sydney on March 6, Bangladesh will meet Uzbekistan in their third Group-B match at Perth on March 9.
The AFC Women’s Asian Cup will be held at the three different cities of Australia from March 1 to March 21.
The champions and the runners-up of the each group will play in the quarter-finals. Besides, the third-place achiever team from two groups will play in the quarter-finals. Bangladesh have to beat Uzbekistan by a big margin. The winners of the quarter-finals will play in the semi-finals. The four semi-finalists will directly take part in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Barzil 2027. The losers of the semi-finals will play at two play-in match. The winning teams of the play-in matches will also get tickets of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
