Tigers win T20I series 2-1: Consolation win for Pakistan

Pakistan posted a 74-run consolation win over Bangladesh in the third Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Thursday. By virtue of yesterday’s victory, Pakistan could avoid whitewash.
Bangladesh won the three-match T20I series 2-1. Jaker Ali Anik of Bangladesh was adjudged the Player of the Series.
The Tigers recorded an emphatic seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the first T20I on July 20 at the same venue. The hosts registered a narrow eight-run win over Pakistan in the second T20I on July 22.
Sent into bat first, Pakistan piled up a fighting total of 178 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh were all out for 104 off 16.4 overs.
Mohammad Saifuddin was the only batter of Bangladesh who fought back against the bowling attack of Pakistan.
Saifuddin remained unbeaten with 35 runs. He hit two sixes and two fours in his 34-ball innings.
Salman Mirza claimed three wickets in lieu of 19 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf picked up a pair of wickets each instead of four and 13 runs respectively.
Salman Agha, Ahmed Daniyel, Hussain Talat took one wicket apiece.
Earlier, Opener Sahibzada Farhan shone with the willow making 63. He cracked five sixes and six fours in his 41-ball innings. Sahibzada Farhan was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Second-down Hasan Nawaz hit a quick-fire 33. His 17-ball knock was studded with three sixes and one four.
Fifth-down Mohammad Nawaz made 27 from 16 deliveries featuring two fours and two sixes.
Opener Saim Ayub scored 21 from 15 balls including one six and two fours.
Taskin Ahmed captured three wickets in the space of 38 runs, while Nasum Ahmed bagged two wickets at the cost of 22 runs.
Mohammad Saifuddin and Shoriful Islam took one wicket each for 28 and 39 runs respectively.
