Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has extended heartfelt thanks to interim government Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus for expressing concern following his health emergency during a rally.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (July 20), the Jamaat chief acknowledged Dr Yunus’s gesture, writing:
“After I fell ill yesterday during our rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, the Chief Adviser inquired about my condition and even sent his press secretary to the hospital. I am deeply grateful. His empathy will not be forgotten.”
He also prayed for Dr Yunus, stating, “May Almighty Allah grant him the best of rewards. Ameen.”
Dr Shafiqur Rahman collapsed on stage around 5:15 pm on Saturday during the party’s national rally due to what he later described as extreme heat. He managed to resume his speech with assistance from party leaders before being taken to the hospital for treatment.
