Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, has announced the launch of a special combing operation to arrest criminals and terrorists, starting today (Sunday, July 13).
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat, the adviser said law enforcement agencies are already conducting routine operations targeting a wide range of crimes—including murder, robbery, extortion, abduction, terrorism, drug trafficking, violence against women, and mob attacks.
“In addition to regular operations, the government may carry out special drives as needed to apprehend known criminals and terrorists,” he said, confirming that such an operation is now underway.
He urged cooperation from citizens and all sectors of society, stressing that the government will act firmly against any threats to public safety.
When asked about the timeline, the adviser stated, “It starts from today.”
