S M Shafiqul Islam, Joypurhat:
National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said, not only the fall of Sheikh Hasina, change of power or change of party, but the country’s political system and mafia-like corrupt system must be changed. We have not seen a change in that system in the last one year. He said, the country needs justice and reform at this moment. Democracy must be taken forward through justice and reform.

He made these remarks at a road rally after a march at Shaheed Dr. Abul Kashem Maidan in Joypurhat city on Saturday afternoon.

Sarjis Alam, the chief coordinator of the northern region of the National Citizens Party, said at the roadshow, “We are holding the July march with the three goals of judicial reform and state formation in mind.”

At the roadshow, the main organizer of the southern region, Hasnat Abdullah, said, “Those who took a stand against July, against the revolutionaries, are trying to rehabilitate the Awami League.” Mother of Terrorists Hasina occasionally tries to sneak into the country from across the border. India is just across Joypurhat. At that time, he asked the leaders and activists whether they would allow Hasina to enter? The leaders and activists unanimously said no. He said, “On the other side of India, another butcher Modi, Muslim brothers are often pushing in our country. I want to tell Modi to push in this July murderer Hasina instead of pushing anyone else.”

Earlier in the afternoon, NCP leaders waved and spoke to the eager crowd on both sides of the city’s main road during a march from the Circuit House area.

The Joypurhat march program was presided over by NCP District Chief Coordinator Firoz Alamgir, while NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zara, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, and other district and upazila leaders were present.
