‘Sanjida’ to ‘Sunita’: Authoi’s journey of fascination

Sheikh Arif Bulbon :

Tahmina Authoi’s journey in the media began as the champion of the ‘World Miss University Bangladesh 2017’ in 2017.

Later, in the same competition, she was awarded the ‘Miss Maecenas News Award’ in Asia and then Authoi achieved 14th place in the world.

The cinema ‘Kalbela,’ directed by late Saidul Anam Tutul, was the first cinema of Authoi.
In it, she won the hearts of the audience with her impeccable performance as Sanjida.

She did several other things later. However, she could not surpass the character of Sanjida in movie ‘Kalbela’. But a few months ago, she is once again basking in the tide of praise for playing the role of Sister Sunita Rosario in the web series ‘Feu’, which was released on an OTT platform.
Authoi has managed to maintain the continuity of fascination among the audience with her performances in two roles, from Sanjida to Sunita.

Those who watched the movie ‘Kalbela’ starring her also watched ‘Feu’ with great interest.
It seems that Sunita in ‘Feu’ has matured more in acting than Sanjida in ‘Kalbela’. It seems that she is getting more response in ‘Feu’ than in ‘Kalbela’.

Authoi said that the next season of ‘Feu’ will come. Meanwhile, yesterday was Tahmina Authoi’s birthday. She had no special plans for the day.

She spent the whole day at her home in the capital’s Banasree area.
Meanwhile, Authoi has already started working on a web series called ‘Black Chapter’.
Authoi told this correspondent, “The film ‘Kalbela’ was produced by the famous cinematographer late Saidul Anam Tutul and his team. He gave me the opportunity to play the role Sanjida in the movie ‘Kalbela’. Many viewers still occasionally highlight the relevance of Sanjida’s character. Again, I am still getting great response for my performance as Sunita in the web series ‘Feu’.

Even now, when I meet many people or on Messenger, they talk about their love for Sunita’s character. So, as an actress, this is my achievement, this is my satisfaction. I haven’t done much work. But what I have done is like a signature. I don’t want to work too much. I want to create good stories that the audience will remember.”

Tahmina Authoi, who completed her honours and master’s degrees from the Department of Dramatics from Chittagong University, is the daughter of Md Akbar Ali and Shahnaz Begum.
