Shakib accused of lying about acting in a movie
Entertainment Report :
A decade ago, director Rajibul Hossain began making a film titled ‘Sob Kichhu Pichhone Fele’, about the story of five young men and women from the city.
Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan was supposed to play a guest role in this movie.
He also participated in the shooting of Cox’s Bazar.
Later, when the news was published, Shakib denied the acting. Director of the film was in danger and the shooting of the movie was stopped. Ultimately, the director stopped working on the movie.
On Friday, director said, “The work on the movie ‘Sob Kichhu Pichhone Fele’ could not be completed because of Shakib’s lies.
Director also said, “The shooting of this movie started with a lot of dreams. Shakib Al Hasan shot, acted in front of the camera, and we finished filming
the scene with the help of clap-sticks and professional recording.
But when Shakib later dropped out of the film business, the entire project was thrown into uncertainty,” he added, “Just as Shakib Al Hasan’s lies have damaged me as a director, this was also his disrespect for an artistic work.
I could have finished the movie with him if I wanted to, but I believe it’s not possible to make a complete movie with an incomplete character.”
In addition to directing, the film was produced by Rajibul Hossain. It was sponsored by Fujifilms Bangladesh. The director said that Shakib joined this movie through them.
Director Rajibul also stated, “Shakib Al Hasan was the brand ambassador of Fujifilms at the time. Shakib’s contract with Fujifilms was that he would give them 8 days of his time as per the annual benefits.
At one point in the discussion about the movie, Fujifilms told us that they would pay a certain amount of money for the movie, and Shakib Al Hasan would act in the movie.”
Rajibul explained why Shakib Al Hasan wanted to deny participating in the shooting even after participating in it, “We shot with Shakib Al Hasan in the first lot. Then, after a news report about his performance was published in a media outlet, he bowed down.
I don’t know why he did this. Fujifilms then requested that Shakib be removed from the film and the film be completed without conflicting with him. But by then the news of his acting had spread. Later, due to moral reasons, I stopped working on the film. I lost Tk65 lakh.”
When asked why this allegation came after so long, Rajibul Hossain said, “I think Shakib didn’t do the right thing at the time. I’m talking about this to let everyone know. Besides, many people were talking about stopping the work on this movie.
They need to be told the truth. It was left unfinished not due to any production or directorial weakness, rather, the work on the movie ‘Sob Kichhu Pichhone Fele’ remained unfinished due to an unwanted and immoral incident.”
