Seminar on importance of good governance held in Sylhet

Speakers at the seminar on the importance of good governance in building a society and a state without discrimination in Sylhet said that 818,000 crore taka was smuggled, bribed and looted from Bangladesh during the previous government. In addition, evidence of 17 lakh crore taka looted in the banking, physical infrastructure, energy and power, health, education and information technology sectors has been found. Eminent figures believe that this has happened due to the lack of good governance in the country.
The seminar was held on Wednesday (June 18) morning at the conference room of the Sylhet Divisional Commissioner organized by the Divisional Commissioner’s Office.
Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi presented the main paper in the seminar.
Sylhet Range DIG Md. Mushfequr Rahman, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md. Sher Mahbub Murad and other officials and dignitaries participated in the discussion moderated by Additional Divisional Commissioner Debjit Singh.
The speakers felt that it is necessary to ensure the establishment of good governance in the country to establish a society without discrimination.
