Murder case against 86 people including Hasina in Ashulia

A murder case has been filed against 86 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, and former MP Saiful Islam in connection with the death of a person named Shakil Anwar after being shot during an anti-discrimination student movement in Ashulia.
On Wednesday, the deceased’s wife Salma Akhter filed the murder case with Ashulia Police Station as the plaintiff. However, several BNP leaders and activists, including some ordinary people, have also been accused in the case.
It is believed that a vicious circle has strategically framed the accused in the murder case out of enmity. However, the father of martyr Shakil Anwar told this reporter that he does not know anything about the case. He also said that martyr Shakil Anwar was childless.
The deceased Shakil Anwar is the son of Abed Ali of Tejanandi village, Bisha union, Atrai upazila, Naogaon district. He was working at British Tobacco in Jirani Ekala, Ashulia, according to his wife, and lived with his family in Bhadail area of Ashulia.
The case statement states that Shakil Anwar joined the anti-discrimination student movement in the Bypail Overbridge area on August 5. At around 2:30 pm, under the direct and indirect orders and instigation of accused numbers 1-10, the other accused chased the agitators with firearms and country-made weapons, beating and shooting them. Shakil Anwar was shot in various parts of his forehead and eyes.
After being rescued and taken to Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Medical Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead. Later, the body was buried in his village house.
The plaintiff in the case, Salma Akhter, said, “I want justice for those who killed my husband. We have filed the case after consulting with everyone, including the well-wishers of the area where he died.
