3 nabbed in uniforms for KNF factory bust

Authorities have seized at least 20,300 articles of clothing suspected to be uniforms for the armed hill group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) from a garment factory in Chattogram city.
The clothes were confiscated late on 17 May from Ringvo Apparels, located in the Nayarhat area of Bayezid Bostami. Three individuals, including the factory owner, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
While the matter came to public attention on Sunday, 25 May, the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has yet to officially acknowledge the seizure. However, several CMP officials confirmed details of the operation to the media.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shahedul Islam, Golam Azam, and Niaz Haider. Local sources report that Shahedul Islam owns the factory, while Golam Azam and Niaz Haider were responsible for placing the uniform order.
A case (No. 42) was registered on 18 May at the Bayezid Bostami Police Station by Sub-Inspector Iqbal Hossain of the Detective Branch.
According to the case file, Golam Azam and Niaz Haider placed the order in March, reportedly on behalf of a man named Monghlasin Marma, also known as Mongh. The contract is believed to be worth Tk 2 crore.
The report adds that members of the KNF had previously provided sample uniforms to Monghlasin, with the final delivery scheduled for this month.
