14 killed as heavy rains lash Pakistan’s Punjab

At least 14 people have been killed and more than 90 others injured during heavy rainfall across Pakistan’s Punjab province, according to reports in the local media.

Lahore accounted for three of the deaths and Jhelum two, while Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, Mianwali, Layyah, and Jhang each reported one fatality, Pakistani newspaper Dawn reports, citing Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
